I Cowboy Junkies sono un gruppo alternative country e folk rock formato a Toronto, Ontario, Canada nel 1985 da Alan Anton (bassista), Michael Timmins (cantautore, chitarrista), Peter Timmins (batterista) e Margo Timmins (cantante). La band ha ottenuto un ampio riconoscimento con il loro secondo album in studio, The Trinity Session (1988), registrato nel 1987 presso la Chiesa della Santissima Trinità di Toronto. Il loro suono, sempre utilizzando il microfono ambisonico, e il loro mix di blues, country, folk, rock e jazz hanno guadagnato loro sia l'attenzione della critica che una forte base di fan. I Cowboy Junkies hanno continuato a registrare 16 album in studio e cinque album dal vivo, con date del tour prenotate fino al 2023
